  1. Your back probing section suggests to follow the wire between the weather seal. That often does not end in good contact with the terminal, and/or damages the seal. Instead, it is better to go between the connecter body and the seal where you meet the metal crimp rather quickly and by contacting it from the outside, it does not get spread open.
